Hoist the sail north of Luzon and you’ll reach one of Ilocos Norte’s prides: Pagudpud. Start your journey in the coastal town frolicking in the white sand beach of Saud, and from there, challenge yourself in a one-of-a-kind, breathtaking kiteboarding experience. And what better place to do this than the windy waters of Pagudpud, also dubbed as “the next big thing on the surfing circuit” in the Philippines.

Moalboal, Cebu

Sail the azure waters southwest of Cebu and dock on the lively coastal resort of Moalboal. The place puts the Philippines in the world map for its epic sardine run, one of the greatest sights you’ll witness in its bountiful waters. Aside from millions of sardines swimming in a single direction, jump off your boat for sale to explore the nearby Pescador Island and Panagsama Beach where a majestic rock wall and plenty of other marine creatures await.

Veer 900 meters east of Davao City and you’ll stumble upon the Island Garden City of Samal, or simply Samal. This “little paradise on earth” boasts of beautiful white sand beaches to go island-hopping, most notably Talikud and Liguid islands, both known for their beautiful coral reefs and diverse aquatic life. While at it, you can also visit the Monfort Bats Conservation Park and mingle with, guess what—bats! And two million of them at that! Lastly, don’t forget to take a refreshing dip in the waters of Hagimit Falls and the Vanishing Island.
